It’s fantastic that you would like to find out more about volunteering at St Mungo’s. We are looking for a female volunteer with beauty treatment experience, such as hairstyling, nail treatments and general pampering, and patience to support our wonderful female residents. You will be leading a monthly pampering session with the residents where you support them in learning how to take care of themselves, and also offer them beauty treatments. Your tasks may involve: organising a spa day or beauty day type activity for the clients, teaching clients self care/hygiene/beauty skills, nail painting, hair styling, make up, facials etc.
The aim of the pampering session is not to provide treatments for all of the residents but for smaller groups of residents to be encouraged to take care of themselves, and also to give them a greater sense of confidence in their physical wellbeing.
